Watch the mail for the “Get Connected” Postcard arriving in mailboxes starting today. Each licensed funeral director will receive their own postcard with a unique username and password to use for the initial sign-in. The new site has many new features that are “members only” and accessing those features will require sign-in. Once you've signed in go to “edit my profile” to make sure the information is complete and correct.

The new WFDA website is more than just a new look, its also a different way of doing business. It will help WFDA become more efficient, improve communication with and between our members. We designed the site to meet our needs for the next 10-15 years so it has lots of capability. We'll be adding new features as we go so to continually improve your experience. Watch for your postcard!

The deadline for pre-registration for the Fall Education conference is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22^nd. Please pre-register and avoid having to pay the on-site registration fee. This year's conference will be held September 24^th & 25^th at the Wilderness Resort/Glacier Canyon Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells. A total of 7 hours of funeral director continuing education credits are available. Federated Insurance has also applied for 2 CE Hours for insurance agents for their Thursday morning session. A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved at the special group rate of $95 (plus tax). Please call the Wilderness Resort directly to make your room Call 1-800-867-9453. You must mention the WFDA room block @ Glacier Canyon Lodge when making your room reservations. The reservation deadline is September 19^th.

Please Note: Should any business demands arise resulting in a guestroom cancellation, we have been assured by the Group Sales Manager and reservations department that your advance deposit of one night stay would be credited and you would not incur any cancellation penalty.

WFDA members planning to attend the 2008 NFDA Convention in Orlando are encouraged to serve as a delegate and represent our state during the House of Delegates meeting from 8:00-10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14. Funeral directors interested in serving as a Delegate should call the WFDA office.

The early registration deadline for the NFDA International Convention & Expo is September 12^th. The annual convention will be held October 12-15^th in Orlando, Florida. For more information, please contact NFDA at 800-228-6332 or http://www.nfda.org/

WFDA will once again offer members the opportunity to satisfy the mandated annual OSHA staff training requirement. This is the tenth year that WFDA has offered this programming. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion for their personnel file as well as 3 hours of continuing education from the Department of Regulation & Licensing. All “at risk” or potentially “at risk” funeral home employees are required to participate in training that covers the following standards: Bloodborne Pathogens, Formaldehyde Exposure, Hazard Communication and General Workplace Safety. All funeral directors will receive a registration form in late September. Here is a list of sites and dates:
